Singareni Offers Sops to Staff to Boost Productivity

  • State owned miner Singareni CollieriesCompany Limited has announced a slew of incentives to its employeesfor upping the productivity. Among others, it is giving an additional Rs 1,000 in the monthly salary for the employees if they attend the work without taking any leave during that month. The mandatory weekly offs stay.The company has different incentives. And those taking more than two leaves, lose out on the incentive. There are also incentives based on the volumes.
  • The company lost out the production for 35 days in September and October as the workforce participated in the general strike in support of the demand for statehood to Telangana.“There is a shortfall in the production targets. Our effort is try and get as close as possible in the remaining four months in the fiscal. We are yet to arrive at the additional spending in the form of incentives,” SCCL chairman and managing director S Narsing Rao told Financial Chronicle.These incentives apart, the company has also finalised several contracts for removal of overburden, fleet management.Coal supply by Singareni, which is nursing plans for overseas foray with the acquisition of coal mines and likely to appoint a consultant shortly, is critical to the power grid system in the southern states.
