• India`s exports during October, 2011 were valued at USD 19,869.97 million which was 10.82% higher in Dollar terms (22.92% higher in Rupee terms) than the level of USD 17,929.64 million (Rs. 79,626.77) during October, 2010. Cumulative value of exports for the period April-October 2011-12 was USD  1,79,777.23 million as against USD 12,3170.46 million registering a  growth of 45.96% in dollar terms and 45.43% in Rupee terms over the same period last year.

Imports: 

• India`s imports during October, 2011 were valued at USD 39,513.73 million representing a growth of 21.72% in Dollar terms (35.01% in Rupee terms) over the level of imports valued at USD 32,461.70 million in October, 2010. Cumulative value of imports for the period April-October, 2011-12 was USD 27,3467.77 million as against USD 208821.75 million registering a growth of 30.96% in Dollar terms and 30.97% in Rupee terms over the same period last year. 

Crude Oil and Non-Oil Imports:

• Oil imports during October, 2011 were valued at USD 10,076.48 million which was 20.73 % higher than oil imports valued at USD 8346.44 million in the corresponding period last year.  Oil imports during April-October, 2011-12 were valued at USD 81,921.93 million which was 40.82% higher than the oil imports of USD 58,175.62 million in the corresponding period last year.  
• Non-oil imports during October, 2011 were estimated at USD 29,437.25 million which was 22.07% higher than non-oil imports of USD 24115.26 million in October, 2010.  Non-oil imports during April - October, 2011-12 were valued at USD 191,545.84 million which was 27.15% higher than the level of such imports valued at USD 150646.14 million in April - October, 2010-11.                                                                      

Trade Balance:

• The trade deficit for April-October, 2011-12 was estimated at USD 93,690.54 million which was higher than the deficit of USD 85,651.29 million during April-October, 2010-11.
