Essar Oil Recasts Management, Names Lalit Kumar Gupta As New CEO

  • Essar Oil, a subsidiary of Essar Energy, today restructured its top deck and brought in Lalit Kumar Gupta as its new Managing Director and CEO. This would see incumbent Naresh Nayyar relinquishing his current role at Essar Oil as MD & CEO and retain his role of Deputy Chairman of Essar Energy Plc.
  • Post-Gupta's appointment, Nayyar would focus on his wider executive responsibilities across the Essar Energy portfolio. He will remain on the board of Essar Oil as a Non- executive Director in the newly-created role of Deputy Chairman, a statement said here. Gupta has 31 years of experience and joins Essar Oil from JSW Energy, where he was the CEO and Joint Managing Director. Prior to this, he was with Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals as its Finance Director.
