Snags Snap Power Supply

  • Local faults and technical snags disrupted power supply in most parts of the city on Monday. A cable box attached to 11-kv Bada Lalpur and Tarna feeder got damaged, causing disruption in power supply in trans-Varuna areas.Besides, a technical snag occurred in 132-kv Bhikharipur substation, which hit electricity in southern parts of the city. A number of areas receiving power from 33-kv substations of Sigra, Kashi Vidyapith and Maidagin also witnessed additional power rostering in the day.
  • Subhash Mehta, executive engineer, Dubakia control room, said the additional power rostering extending up to six hours and was implemented in three shifts in different localities on the instructions from Lucknow control room.There were also instructions to supply uninterrupted electricity in the night, but local faults and technical snags made it difficult. As per reports from PVVNL office, the dipping mercury has increased the demand for electricity in the region.
