Sandesh Nagaraj Demands 4-Lane Conversion of Mysore-N'Gud Road

  • PWD Minister C.M. Udasi said here that the government has released Rs. 4.98 crore for converting Mysore-Nanjangud Road, which is part of National High-way 212, into a 4-lane road at the stretch passing through Nanjangud town.Replying to a question posed by JD(S) MLC Sandesh Nagaraj, Udasi said Nanjangud-Chamarajanagar Road is a part of State Highway and there is no proposal as of now for converting it into a 4-lane road.Sandesh Nagaraj said the road had a vehicle density of nearly 8,000 PCU and this is going to touch 10,000 PCU in a few months. As such, the Nanjangud-Chamarajanagar road should be converted into a 4-lane one, he urged and demanded erection of steel railings along Undabatti and Mandakalli lakes on Mysore-Nanjangud Road.
  • The PWD Minister in his written reply, said as of now the Nanjangud-Chamarajanagar road has PCU density of 7,765 and the road can be converted into a 4-lane one only if this density touched the 10,000 mark.Replying to another question by Sandesh Nagaraj, Udasi said measures will be taken soon to develop the 14 km alternative stretch of Mysore-Manandavadi State Highway Road that passes through Honnammanakatte-Hosaholalu-Magge-Belthur-Karapur.
