NHAI Sets Up Toll Plaza At Paliakkara

  • Those travelling along the Mannuthy-Edappally stretch of National Highway 47 will have to pay the toll from Monday. The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) authorities have set up toll plaza at Paliakkara near Puthukkad to collect the toll.
  • "All the vehicles except two-wheelers and auto rickshaws will have to pay the toll. As there will be only one toll plaza, those passing through Paliakkara will have to pay the toll. Those living within 10km diameter of the toll plaza can take monthly coupon of Rs 150 for their cars. The car owners can travel as many times as they wish using the monthly pass,'' said G Ramanathan, project director, NHAI. Those living within 20km diameter of the toll plaza can buy monthly pass on payment of Rs 300. The monthly rate for school buses will be Rs 1,000.The commercial vehicles within 20km diameter of the toll plaza will have to pay Rs 25 for each journey while it is Rs 15 for light commercial vehicles.
  • Car, jeep and passenger van will have to pay Rs 55 for a single journey while it will cost Rs 85 for multiple pass. Monthly pass for these vehicles will cost Rs 1,660. While the single trip pass for light commercial vehicles will cost Rs 95, the rate of multiple pass will be Rs 145. The monthly pass for these vehicles will cost Rs 2,905.
