Six New Industrial Estates to Be Set Up in Himachal

  • The Himachal Pradesh government has decided to set up new industrial estates at six places, Industries Minister Krishan Kapoor told Vidhan sabha today. Replying to a question of Roop Singh (BJP), he said that new estates would be established at Arsu in Sundernagar area of Mandi district, Mauja Chanaur, Mauja Sansarpur Terrace, Mauja Milwan and Mauja Ghandra and Sudarwan, all in Kangra district. Transport Minister Mohinder Singh told the House in reply to another question of Praveen Kumar that there was no proposal under consideration of Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) to start Volvo buses from Palampur to Delhi, Baddi and Shimla. Public Works Department Minister Ghulab Singh told Roop Singh (BJP) that launching site for the bridge on Tattapani-Salappar road near Neri has been selected and its proposed length has been increased from sixty eight meters to seventy-six meters. He said that a sum of Rs 2.08 crore would be on the construction of the bridge which was expected to be commissioned by December 2012.
  • Heath and Family Welfare Minister Rajeev Bindal informed that the government was trying to have a firm policy for filling the vacant posts of doctors and other Para medical staff in the tribal and backward areas of the state. He said that the work for filling the vacant posts was going on continuous basis. Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal told Praveen Kumar of BJP that the government was giving subsidy on 146 types of tractors in the state. The amount of subsidy was rs 45,000 for purchase of tractor up to 40 Horse power (HP) and 90 out of 139 cases received by the government had been decided since April 1, 2011. In another reply, the Chief Minister informed Kumar that two FIRs had been registered by the Kangra district police against the owners of the Netaji Subhash Chander Bose Nursing College, Palampur for alleged misbehavior with the girl students.
