Petroleum Geophysicists Converge At Hyderabad Event

  • The three-day International Conference and Exhibition hosted by the Society of Petroleum Geophysicists (SPG), which was inaugurated today, is deliberating some of the major challenges that the oil and gas sector is witness to lately.The 9th in the series of biennial International conferences organised by the professional society has 2,300 delegates participating, more than 500 of them international. The event is also hosting more than 108 exhibition stalls spanning various aspects of oil and gas sector.
  • The Chief Patron of the SPG and ONGC Chairman and Managing Director, Mr Sudhir Vasudeva, said, “for the first time in this part of the world, we have been able to bring all geo-scientific associations like the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), USA and European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE), Netherlands, Society of Petroleum Well Logging Analysts (SPWLA), Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and Association of Petroleum Geologists (APG) on a single platform.”
  • The President SPG, Mr Apurba Saha, said that this event would integrate the complete fraternity of petroleum geo-scientists and petroleum engineers and sharpen their edge to resolve their common issues for sustainable solutions.SPG has been pursuing intellectual development of not only its members, but for the E&P industry as a whole. The event will have deliberations on critical issues of high industry significance such as drilling and completion, production and optimisation from matured fields and project management.The event will host 32 technical sessions and have more than 284 technical papers presented.
