International Price of Crude oil - Indian Basket Remains High on 16.2.2012 

  • The international crude oil prices for Indian Basket as computed/published today by the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has continued to rule  high at US$ 118.31 per barrel (bbl). The price, computed and published by PPAC on their website is based on last trading day’s figures of 16.2.2012. The price computed/ published on 16.2.2012 based on trading figures of 15.2.2012 was only slightly higher at US$ 118.35 per bbl. 
  • In rupee terms, the crude oil price was only marginally lower today at Rs 5826.77 against Rs 5828.74 per bbl published on 16.2.2012 due to  slight decrease in crude oil price in dollar terms, as rupee dollar exchange rate of Rs 49.25/US$ on 15.02.2012 was applicable for the trading day of 16.2.2012 as well.
