REpower Signs Deal to Supply 250 MW Wind Turbines to French Firm

  • As part of the deal, REpower, which is wholly-owned by Suzlon group, will launch its new 3.XM series in France.REpower Systems, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Suzlon group, said on Tuesday that it has won a contract for supplying wind turbines of 250 MW capacity to French firm Maïa Eolis.REpower Systems SE has signed a contract with Maïa Eolis, a subsidiary of Maïa Group and GDF Suez, for onshore wind farms in France, a company statement said, but did not specify the value of the deal.The project is scheduled for delivery between 2012 and 2015, it said.
  • The contract comprises REpower’s turbines with a nominal power of 2 MW, and the new REpower 3.4M104 and the 3.2M114 with 3.4 and 3.2 MW rate power, respectively. The 3 MW series is the company’s latest onshore development for sites with medium to low wind speeds, it said."This is an important agreement for the Group, it underscores our competitive product offerings and our strong positioning in what is a key market for wind energy in Europe," Tulsi Tanti, Chairman Suzlon Group, said in the statement.
