Russia OMK to Supply Pipes For South Stream Gas Pipeline Project

  • It is reported that Russian pipe producing company United Metallurgical Company has been awarded a certificate of conformity to DNV standard, enabling supply of its large diameter (LD) pipes for the South Stream gas pipeline project. The certificate was granted upon successful test results for a trial batch of pipes produced by OMK. The pipes in question are 813 mm ? 39 mm SAWL 450SD (?65) and 813 mm ? 37.4 mm SAWL 485 SD (?70) as per DNV-OS-F101 specification requirements.The South Stream gas pipeline will transport Russian natural gas under the Black Sea to Bulgaria and from there to Greece, Italy and Austria.
