Amaila Falls Road Construction Will Continue – Dr. Luncheon

  • The conservatory order issued by acting Chief Justice Ian Chang, in relation to Synergy Holdings’ contract to construct the Amaila Falls Access Road, will not prevent government from continuing the project. This is according to Cabinet Secretary, Dr. Roger Luncheon, who stressed that the administration intends to have the road built and is pursuing contractual obligations to this end. Dr. Luncheon said agreements have been met with contractor, Toolsie Persaud and there are still others to be tendered.

  • He added that those contractors who submitted bids in the original design and build contract which Synergy won, would be approached by central government to execute lots that are now unattended, so that the project can continue. The contract awarded to Synergy Holdings was terminated, as the company failed to honor one of the terms of a completion agreement, reached with the government.
