GAIL Q3 Earnings Grow 13%

  • State-run GAIL India announced on Monday a 13% growth in net profit for the third quarter of the FY 2011-12 to Rs 10.91 billion against Rs 9.68 billion in the corresponding period previous year.It registered a net turnover of Rs 112.60 billion in the third quarter of FY 2011-12 as against Rs 83.65 billion, a 35% increase over the turnover in the corresponding period during the last financial year.Gross margin increased by 19% to Rs 18.16 billion in the third quarter of the current financial year against Rs 15.24 billion in the corresponding period last year.During the third quarter of the current financial year, revenues from natural gas transmission business have increased by 9%to Rs 10.87 billion as against Rs 10.01 billion in the corresponding period of previous year.

  • The net sales from petrochemicals business have increased by 54% to Rs 8.78 billion as against Rs 5.71 billion in the corresponding period of last year.The net sales from LPG and liquid hydrocarbons business during the third quarter of the current financial year have increased by 33% to Rs 9.66 billion as against Rs 7.29 billion in the corresponding period of last year.The sales from natural gas trading during the third quarter of the current financial year increased by 35%  to Rs 91.49 billion as against Rs 67.73  billion in the corresponding period of the last year.The revenues from LPG transmission during the third quarter of the current financial year have decreased by 5% to Rs 1.22 billion as against Rs 1.29 billion in the corresponding period last year.Shares of the company declined Rs 3.75, or 1.01%, to trade at Rs 369.30. The total volume of shares traded was 201,806 at the BSE (3.20 p.m., Monday).
