Gammon Infra Delivers Kosi Maha Sethu

  • The KOSI MAHA SETHU, a bridge across the river Kosi in Supaul District of Bihar, developed by Gammon Infrastructure Projects Ltd. (the "Company") through its special purpose vehicle Kosi Bridge Infrastructure Company Ltd. (KBICL) and constructed by Gammon India Ltd. is ready for inauguration.The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) had awarded the project to the company to develop, finance, construct, operate and manage the 1.8 km long 4 lane bridge across the river Kosi along with 8.2 km of access roads and 22 km (approx) of guide bunds / afflux bunds on National Highway No.57 (NH57) on 'annuity' basis.
  • The bridge is being dedicated to the nation by Dr. C.P.Joshi, Hon'ble Union Minister, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways in the presence of Shri. Nitish Kumar, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Bihar and other dignitaries at a special function on February 8, 2012.The bridge is 1878 meter long and 20.76 meter wise and has 40 well foundations each of 8 meter diameter and 39 spans each of 48.15 meters in length. Kosi has over the years been known to change its course frequently causing inundation of the region in the rainy season. Commissioning of the bridge will be a major boost for passenger and commercial traffic on NH57.
  • Under the concession agreement, KBICL is entitled to receive 34 semi-annual annuities of Rs.31.9 crores each during the concession period. The project has been capitalized at Rs.448 crores.The Gammon Infrastructure Projects stock was trading at Rs.14.82, up by Rs.0.43 or 2.99%. The stock hit an intraday high of Rs.15.50 and low of Rs.14.08.The total traded quantity was 1.18 lakhs compared to 2 week average of 0.60 lakhs.
