Suzlon Bags Rs 300 Cr Wind Turbine Order from US Firm

  • Suzlon Energy has bagged an order worth over Rs 300 crore for supply of wind turbines with a cumulative capacity to generate a total of over 50 mw power for an American firm.“REpower Systems SE, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Suzlon group, has concluded a contract with US developer enXco – an EDF Energies Nouvelles company — for the delivery of 25 wind turbines,” Suzlon Energy said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange on Wednesday.

  • The Pune-based company said the turbines would be delivered and installed in October-November 2012 at the Shiloh IV wind farm, situated in Solano County, California. The wind farm will have a power output of more than 50 mw.“Suzlon’s order book continues to grow over the past few quarters. The total consolidated order book at the time of announcement of Q3 results was estimated to be around 5,000 mw. However, Suzlon has a huge debt and loan repayments of around Rs 3,700 crore are due in FY13, including FCCB,” Charanjit Singh, an analyst with HSBC Bank told Financial Chronicle.
