NHAI Passes for the Locals

  • The National Highways Authority of India ( NHAI) introduced passes for locals at Rs 190 for unlimited number of trips and can be obtained only by commuters using a non-commercial vehicle and living between Hebbal and Devanahalli. The documents required are identity card (driving licence/ PAN card), residence proof (driving licence or Voter ID or ration card), vehicle Registration Card (RC) book and two copies of the applicant's photograph. The one-time registration fee is Rs 100 and can be renewed every month at Rs 190.
  • These are available at toll offices near the plaza.Other passes for commercial and non-commercial vehicles are also available and valid for a certain number of trips. For cars and light motor vehicles, the pass costs Rs 600 and for mini buses it's Rs 975 for 50 trips (Rs 25 up and Rs 25 down). For buses and trucks, the monthly pass costs Rs 2,040. Heavy vehicles having 3-6 axles, monthly pass is worth Rs 3,195 and heavy vehicles having seven or more axles have to pay Rs 3,890.
  • A commuter who has paid once at any of the three toll plazas needn't pay at the other two plazas. The first plaza having eight counters is aimed at airport commuters returning towards the city and the second plaza having seven counters for commuters going towards Devanahalli and Chikkaballapur. The road going towards trumpet flyover from the city and Hyderabad has no toll booths. Vehicles moving towards Hyderabad have to pay toll at the third plaza which is 2km from the second toll plaza after trumpet flyover.
