Coal India to Revise Prices Soon

  • Coal India Ltd (CIL) is revising coal prices to dispel fears of a steep rise in energy costs following its decision to introduce a new grading system.Under the new system, prices are linked to the actual calorific value or quality of coal. The grading system based on useful heat value (UHV) deducted ash and moisture content from the standard formula."We will announce new prices in a day or two. The new pricing norm will be revenue neutral," CIL's acting chairman N C Jha told reporters at the International Mining, Exploration, Mineral Processing Technology & Machinery Exhibition being held in Kolkata.
