Sanction Denied for Kochi-Bangalore Gas Pipeline

  • The Environment Ministry Sunday denied sanction for the Bangalore-Kochi gas pipeline because of an unresolved case on the forest land through which it passes.The proposed project is supposed to provide natural gas for industrial purposes. The pipeline, which passes through the Kanchikode forest area will have to get five acres of forest land.The ministry has said that sanction cannot be given to the project till a verdict is out on the case on the forest land.
