Extra Coach to Be Added to Trains With 150 Waitlisted Passengers

  • Just before peak season railways has decided to ease the headache for travellers. By improving its reservation monitoring system railways is ensuring that extra bogies will be attached to any train that has more than 150 waitlisted passengers. This will help ease the congestion and in one move help atleast a 100 passengers get confirm tickets. The number of coaches on a train will be decided by the number of waitlisted tickets. Keeping this mind railways has already begun extra coaches in trains.During summer vacations and holi festival, railway sees an immense rise in the number of travellers. As per the stats on Sunday, all trains on routes had between 40-100 waitlisted passengers. Other than this stress is being laid on running seasonal special trains on many routes.
  • In a meeting of senior railway officials stress was laid on keeping a watch on the number of waitlist reservations. A close eye is being kept on trians to Jaipur, Mumbai, Kolkata, Patna, Chhapra, Allahabad, Lucknow, Delhi, Bhopal, Hyderabad and Bhuvaneswar. Rush will increase in trains from March 4 to May 25 owing to vacations in schools.
