• An NHAI official was today booked for allegedly owning assets disproportionate to his known income, after the anti-corruption bureau of Rajasthan conducted raids at his residence here. Ramnarayan Chaudhary, an executive engineer with the National Highway Authority of India, is currently on deputation at Pali, official sources said. During the raids conducted at Chaudhary's residence and other premises, the bureau team recovered documents of several plots owned by him and Rs 1.3 lakh in cash, the sources said. The properties were worth several crores, they said. A case of disproportionate assets has been lodged against the engineer, they said, adding, no arrest was made in this connection.
