Essar Pro to Complete Installing ONGC Platforms By Mar

  • Essar Projects, the EPC arm of the diversified Essar Group, today announced that the Rs 1,064-crore D1 development project for ONGC in the Bombay High area would be completed by the end of next month.     "The D1 project bears testimony to the engineering and execution capabilities of Essar Projects in implementing a project of such scale in the offshore environment on a fast-track basis. Our experience and track record in offshore construction has enabled us to complete this project to international quality standards," Essar Projects president and chief executive Alwyn Bowden said in a statement.      
  • The project includes installation of three offshore platforms, laying of subsea pipelines to connect the three platforms to the existing floating production, and storage and offloading through pipeline-end manifold.      All new platforms, the pipeline-end manifold and the existing D1 platform will be connected with a network of subsea rigid and flexible pipelines and composite cables totalling about 14.5 km, and will be completed within 24 months, the company said. Platform D1B will receive the 35,000 bopd (barrels of oil per day) of crude from the D1, D1C and D1D platforms and this will then be transferred for processing to the D1 field FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) through the PLEM (Pipeline End Manifold) and , the statement said.
