Link Roads to Be Laid Toconnect Coastal Villages

  • Government Whip Perni Venkataramaiah has said that link roads will be laid to connect the seabed villages in Krishna district.Mr. Venkataramaiah, who participated in a series of inaugurations in Machilipatnam rural mandal, inaugurated a water tank, with 10,000-litre capacity, at Maridibba village on Sunday.Speaking on the occasion, he said connecting roads would be laid between Maridibba Sirivellapalem, Kothapudi, Potlapalem, Tapasipudi, Gopuvanipalem, and Modi villages. When the villagers asked for development of the approach road from Manginapudi beach to the village, he assured them of initiating steps for completion of the road by December this year.

  • Later, Mr. Venkataramaiah inaugurated the overhead water tank with 40,000-litre capacity and the drinking water taps at Tapasipudi village. The local women sought construction of mini water tanks to solve drinking water problem and allotment of house-sites for them.The whip directed RWS Deputy Executive Engineer Tatabbayi to install public taps in the colonies and connect them to the new tanks.APSRTC Managing Director Prasada Rao said that the RTC would operate buses on BRTS road in Vijayawada soon. Mr. Rao, who visited the city on Sunday, had a trial run with Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Commissioner G. Ravi Babu on BRTS Road.The Commissioner explained that construction works would be completed by this month and asked the RTC to operate buses from April on BRTS road.
