Intermittent Power Cuts in Several Areas Due to Short Supply

  • Several areas in the city today faced intermittent power cuts due to shortage of power supply to the tune of around 800 mega watt from NTPC's Dadri power plant in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh. Officials said the Dadri plant developed some technical glitch at around 6 pm severely affecting power generation. A number of areas in South, East and North Delhi faced outages due to the shortage of power. Officials claimed there was minimum impact of the shortage as discoms overdrew power from Northern Grid to meet the shortfall. They said the plant will restore full quota of power supply to the city by 11 pm.
