International Price of Crude Oil - Indian Basket on 16.3.2012 Declines

  • The international crude oil prices for Indian Basket as computed/published today by the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas was lower at US$ 123.35 per barrel (bbl). The price, computed and published by PPAC on their website is based on last trading day’s figures of 16.03.2012. The price previously computed/ published on 16.3.2012 based on trading figures of 15.3.2012, was US$ 123.86 per bbl.

  • In rupee terms also, the crude oil price was lower today at Rs 6205.74   against Rs 6220.25   per bbl published on 19.3.2012, due to lower crude oil price in dollar terms, despite rupee depreciation with rupee/dollar exchange rate at  Rs 50.31  /US$ on 15.03.2012 against Rs 50.22  /US$ on  15.3.2012.
