India's ONGC Plans Israel Visit for Gas Exploration Talks - Report

  • ONGC Videsh Ltd., the overseas exploration unit of Oil & Natural Gas Corp. (500312.BY), will send several top executives to Israel in April for talks on business opportunities, including gas exploration and production possibilities, energy news portal Indianpetro.com said.

  • Israel and neighboring Cyprus recently discovered large amounts of gas under the Mediterranean waters that separate them, and a recently launched licensing round by Cyprus has attracted international interest, including from China National Offshore Oil Corp.During the two-day visit, OVL executives will meet senior Israeli government officials and counterparts from exploration and production companies, Indianpetro reported late Monday, without citing any sources.The planned visit follows a visit by Israel's energy minister to India in February, during which Indian officials expressed interest in participating in the oil and gas sector in Israel.
