Domestic Aviation Sector Resilient to Tough Times, Says Emirates

  • Emirates, the Dubai-based international airliner operating 185 flights weekly to 10 Indian destinations, is open to add more flights provided opportunities unfold here.Mr Orhan Abbas, Emirates' Vice-President for India and Nepal, on Wednesday said India is one of the most promising countries in the region and with a robust economy, which has withstood several challenges unlike some other countries.The opportunities for airlines would only get bigger over the years.

  • Speaking to newspersons here after announcing sponsorship of Deccan Chargers team for IPL, Mr Abbas said, “India is a vital market for Emirates and we recognise the huge role it has played in our development. About 25 per cent of the employees in Emirates are from India so are millions of Indian passengers who have helped the airliner grow over the years.”Through the sponsorship, Emirates has a chance to connect with the people across continents.
