NTPC Commissions 500 MW Unit at Vallur Thermal Power Project

  • National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has announced that the Unit I of 500 MW of Vallur Thermal Power Project of NTPC Tamil Nadu Energy a JV of NTPC and TNEB has been commissioned on Mar. 28, 2012. With this, the total capacity of NTPC group has become 36,514 MW.The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till Mar. 28, 2012, falling 10.05% compared with the Sensex`s 3.44% decline. It underperformed the market in past one quarter, gaining 0.50% as against 8.86% rise in the Sensex.Shares of the company gained Rs 0.7, or 0.43%, to settle at Rs 162.65. The total volume of shares traded was 193,933 at the BSE (Thursday).
