MRPL Refining Capacity Goes Up By 25%

  • The refining capacity of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL), a subsidiary of ONGC, has gone up by nearly 25 per cent with effect from March 29.The refining capacity has increased to 15 million tonnes per annum from 11.82 mtpa after the commissioning of crude and vacuum distillation unit-III.With this, production goes on stream from the Phase-III refinery expansion-cum-upgradation project. The Phase-III expansion was taken up with an investment of around Rs 12,160 crore.MRPL scrip was trading at Rs 62.65 at 12.22 pm on Friday against the Thursday’s closing of 60.80.
