The Home Secretary (HS) recently held a meeting to review the power projects under PRMP beyond March 2012. The HS remarked on the importance of these projects in the power sector and called for the close monitoring and timely completion of targets for these projects.

He also pointed out that as per the inputs received from Ministry of Power; no additional funding was indicated for the 12^th Plan for the projects being executed under the NHPC.

The HS laid particular emphasis on the additional requirement concerning the three State Sector power projects and floated the idea that the equity requirement for the joint sector projects could be separately considered by Planning Commission in consultation with M/o Power and M/o Finance.

The HS then went on to discuss the progress of all projects, their time   extensions requested and fund requirements.

Two other aspects discussed were electrification of all villages across the state and the strengthening power transmission and distribution network across the state of Jammu & Kashmir.
