Questions raised on the Conversion of Cellulose into Ethanol

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has written to the IOC(R&D),  regarding an unstarred question on the subject of conversion of Cellulose into Ethanol. 

A question was raised in the Lok Sabha on whether the Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Finland for conversion of cellulose into ethanol, if so, the details thereof; the terms and conditions of the MoU and its financial implications; and the time by which the project is likely to be commissioned.    

In this regard, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has sought relevant information from the IOC (R&D) on the above points so that the Ministry may prepare an appropriate reply to the question.
