Questions raised on Import of Ethanol

In response to a question on the import of ethanol, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has been asked to furnish data on the same. 

A question was raised in the Lok Sabha on: 

  1. whether the Government has empowered the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) to import ethanol in case of shortfall in domestic supply of ethanol in the country
  2. if so, the details thereof
  3. the details of necessary arrangements made in this regard to carry out the work of easy import of ethanol in the country?

In response, The Conservation Cell of the MoPNG has been asked to furnish data on the same on industry basis, for preparing a reply to the above Question.
