Questions raised on Aviation Turbine Fuel

A question was raised in the Lok Sabha regarding aviation turbine fuel. It was asked 

  1. what is the cost in percentage of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) to total cost of the Indian airline companies
  2. whether the Government has received any proposal to declare ATF as a declared good and if so, the details thereof and the advantage to be accrued to the airlines there from
  3. whether the prices of ATF in the country are higher when compared to its cost in foreign countries and the steps being taken by the Government to reduce the price particularly when the airline companies are facing financial trouble
  4. whether the Ministry is having any proposal lo implement Mean of Plaits Arab Gulf (MoPAG) price mechanism for jet fuel and if so, the details thereof mid the steps being taken by the Government to have uniform VAT rate on jet fuel charged by different States
  5. whether the foreign airlines are getting cheap jet fuel at concessional rate and if so, the details thereof

In this regard, answers have been sought from the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
