Road Safety Bill soon

The state government will soon come out with a Road Safety Bill to minimise road accidents. The government on Wednesday issued orders constituting a committee to study the Acts and rules in vogue in other states and to prepare a draft “AP Road Safety Bill”.

Commissioner of transport will head the committee with additional director general of police (Highways), engineer-in-chief(R&B) rural roads and chief technical examiner(R&B) as members of the committee. The committee will prepare a draft bill and also come up with suggestions on the measures to be taken and put in place institutional mechanism to have coordination among different organisations.
