Questions raised on supply of Piped Natural Gas

One of the priority questions raised in the Lok Sabha in the recent session was on the supply of piped natural gas in the country. 

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has been asked to repsond to the following questions on the subject of supply of piped natural gas: 

  1. the criteria for supplying Piped Natural Gas (PNG) In various States/ UTs In the country
  2. whether the number of subscribers of PNG is far less than that of LPG subscribers
  3. if so, the total number of households provided with PNG during the last three years and the current year, State/ LTP wise
  4. whether the Government proposes to supply PNG to those States which have not been covered under PNG distribution network so far and if so, the details thereof, State/ UT-wise including Tamil Nadu
  5. whether the Union Government has received any proposal from certain State Governments including Maharashtra in this regard 
  6. if so, the State/ UT wise details thereof along with the action taken by the Union Government thereon?
