PLL: activities wrt LNG Import from USA

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas had written to Petronet LNG Limited (PLL) in the context of a preparatory meeting to be chaired by Principal Secretary to PM in regard to next Prime Minster's Global Advisory Council of Overseas Indians, to be held on 08.01.2014 in Delhi. 

In response, PLL has shared the following brief note on PLL's activities wrt LNG Import from USA:
To cater the India's growing gas demand & supply gap, Petronet LNG Limited is in constant touch with various potential LNG suppliers in USA. In 2013, PLL has entered into HOA with United LNG of USA for sourcing up to 4- 5 MMTPA LNG on long term basis from their upcoming projects in USA and pursuing discussions on LNG Sales and Purchase Agreement. Government may also explore investment opportunity in upcoming upstream integrated Liquefaction Projects of USA.
