Bihar seeks INR 63,633 crore from 14th Finance Commission

<p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">The Bihar government Tuesday demanded INR 63,633 crore from the 14th Finance Commission for development of the state, an official said.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who along with his cabinet colleagues and top officials, met a visiting team of the commission here, submitted a memorandum highlighting the need for building infrastructure including roads and bridges, river interlinking, and implementation of agriculture road map and sought the amount.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">The memorandum also stressed on development of energy sector, health and education, an official of the chief minister&#39;s office said here.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">State Water Resources Development Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, who was present at the meeting, told media persons later that the state government has given a detailed memorandum to the commission.
