City to have 4 Flyovers, 10 FOBs soon

<p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">Several major issues related to city&rsquo;s development got a boost during a high power meeting held at the Collectorate, on Monday. The meeting in principle agreed to four flyovers at city crossings and over 10 escalators&nbsp;based Foot over Bridges (FOB) on the BRTS Corridor.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">A proposal for 6 lane road from Airport to Super Corridor will also get the approval on Tuesday. Similarly, the district administration has decided to launch an anti- encroachment drive this week. The district administration held a meeting of officers of various departments associated with city development proposals on Monday at the Collectorate. Several issues including BRTS, encroachments and roads were discussed in the meeting.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">After the meeting District Collector Aakash Tripathi said that many issues related to the city&rsquo;s developments were discussed during the meeting. He said that as per the meeting held between Urban Administration Department Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya and Union Urban Minister Kamalnath, a consensus is built to construct four flyovers and escalator- based FOBs at more than 10 places.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">&ldquo;The proposal for the same is sought from us. We are sending primary estimates to the Centre based on the model estimates. The meeting of the Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (CSMC) of the JNNURM is going to be held on January 15. We are hoping that the proposal would be cleared there. Tripathi further said that the flyovers would be built at four squares- Vijay Nagar, Shivaji Vatika, Navlakha and Bhanwarkuan.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">Anti-encroachment drive The administration is going to begin a drive against encroachments this week.He said that encroachments on Banganga and Kesar Bagh roads would be cleared for smooth flow of traffic.Airport will give NOC The issue pending for a long- time about the funnel area of the airport at the Aerodrome Road police station will also be sorted out. He said that a little bit of layout of the area would be changed to save habitation of the areas. The demarcation for funnel area of the airport is completed and we are hoping that the airport administration will give &lsquo;NOC&rsquo; for the six lane road of that end.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">The 6-lane road proposal worth INR 6.15 crore from Airport to Super Corridor would get the nod during the meeting of SFC, scheduled to be held, on Tuesday in Bhopal. Tripathi further said that as soon as it was approved, the administration would float the tender and the process would be completed before the Global Investors Summit. After its construction, the investors coming to attend the summit will have a glimpse of the six lane roads from the Airport to the summit venue.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">IT issues related to problems coming to IT companies were also discussed in the meeting. Tripathi said that orders were given to file FIRs against those who were creating problem in the way of Simhasa IT Part. The dispute between construction agency and Infosys for construction of IT major&rsquo;s campus boundary wall would be sorted out by tomorrow.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">Khajarana Temple security plan ready In view of growing security threat to Khajarana Ganesh temple, the administration has chalked out a comprehensive plan. The Collector said that as per the plan the security of the temple is divided in two parts Manning and Door Framed Metal Detector (DFMD).The security service will be outsourced while DFMD will be purchased by the district administration.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:rgb(105, 105, 105); font-family:arial; font-size:11px; line-height:1.6em">The flyovers will be constructed at Vijay Nagar, Shivaji Vatika, Navlakha and Bhanwarkua Square.m Over 10 escalators- based FOBs will be built at BRTS bus stops.m Major anti- encroachment drive from this week .
