Green signal for NHAI project

<p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">The Madras high court has permitted the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to complete the remaining project of the Tiruchy-Karaikudi NH 2010 bridge work subject to the condition that it should not contravene the undertaking given to the court in respect of preservation of water bodies.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">Justice T. Raja allowed a batch of petitions from the NHAI while quashing the three orders of the state PWD passed in September, October and November 2012, refusing &lsquo;no objection certificate&rsquo; to NHAI for the balance of the bridge project.&nbsp;</span></span></span><span style="color:rgb(105, 105, 105); font-family:arial; font-size:11px; line-height:1.6em">The judge said in respect of the completed project and the undergoing project, if any deepening of desilting or any other restoration work was required, NHAI should carry it out by incurring the entire expenditure required.</span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">Concurring with the submissions of additional solicitor general P.
