Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation to finalise Road Works Tenders by January end

<p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">A fortnight after the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) council meeting adopted a resolution allocating INR 50 lakh to each municipal division for road repairs proposed by the corporators, commissioner Somesh Kumar has issued guidelines for the works.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">The commissioner on Thursday said busy roads connecting more colonies would be given top priority. Also, roads where underground sewer and water pipelines have already been laid and where there is no plan for such works in the next two years should be proposed for recarpeting. He said proposals for a package of roads with estimates of minimum INR 15 lakh and maximum INR 50 lakh should be taken up for smooth execution, better monitoring and quality. The commissioner also said that in case of partly damaged roads, a proper rectangular portion should be cut and filled at the same level.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">Somesh Kumar said quality control teams would take up a special drive, keep a watch on the works and submit reports on weekly basis. He added that estimates and packages for works would be prepared by January 25 and tenders would be called on January 28.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">Meanwhile, the GHMC commissioner has directed contractors to complete construction of slab culvert across the Kukatpally nala near Deendayal Nagar within three months.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">Somesh Kumar inspected various developmental works in Kukatpally circle on Thursday. He said that construction of slab on culvert across the nala near Rajkamal Transport at Fatehnagar had been sanctioned and directed officials to complete the tender process soon.
