Expedite Road Construction work: Azo

<p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">After initiating the ongoing resurfacing, road and drainage construction in Dimapur, minister for roads &amp; bridges and parliamentary affairs, Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu Tuesday urged contractors to expedite similar pending works at various places in the state capital Kohima. Azo Tuesday inspected various works in progress in Kohima with an urgency to ensure that the resurfacing and road construction works were completed by the end of winter season.&nbsp; It may be recalled that Azo had assured to bring changes to the roads in the state within three to four years.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">During Tuesday&rsquo;s inspection in Kohima, the minister was accompanied by department officials, SE Meren, executive engineer south Supong, They visited the approach road to Zoo reaching Kohima Science College Junction, LFS/Cathedral Church Road, Raj Bhavan/Officer Hill road and Kenuozou to T. Khel road. They also inspected the completed roads in Assembly Complex area and Aradhura to National Highway -29 via NST.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">While visiting the construction sites, Azo urged the contractors to expedite the work and to complete the same before the arrival of monsoon. With the ongoing road resurfacing and constructions, broader drainages along the sides have been ensured.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">Former NSF president Kelhouniezo Yhome, who accompanied the minister from L. Khel, said Kohima Village approach link passage from upper Kenouzou till P.Khel has not been properly constructed as a road for almost 30 years. For the first time, the minister along with the department has initiated construction of the road. He extended deep appreciation to the minister&rsquo;s initiative. He urged minister and contractors to complete the construction as early as possible.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">In Kohima, resurfacing and improvement of road has been taken up in MHHSS to Science College, town road to Upper Forest, construction of bypass road Seithogei to IG stadium besides improvement of road sides and culverts at various locations and construction of RCC T Beam girder double lane bridges over river Zaur Mima-Chakhabama. All these were expected to be completed by April 2014. The construction of Viswems-Kidima-Zuketsa road was expected to be completed by March 2015 while the bypass road - Seithogei to IG stadium was expected to be completed by December 2014.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">Source-On Request</span></span></span></p>
