Land Acquisition for Expansion of NH-2 underway

<p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">Additional collector Ranjan Chowdhury convened a meeting with the revenue and land department officials of Hazaribag and Barhi subdivisions here on Friday.&nbsp;</span></span></span><span style="color:rgb(105, 105, 105); font-family:arial; font-size:11px; line-height:1.6em">The purpose of the meet was to discuss acquisition of land for converting the existing four-lane national highway 2 to six lanes in Chouparan, Barhi and Barkatha blocks of Hazaribag district.</span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">As many as 46 villages in the three blocks will be affected if the NH-2 is converted into a six-lane highway, said the land acquisition officer of Hazaribag.The process of acquiring land has already begun. He said, &quot;Of the 46 villages, reports and notices under the Land acquisition Act have been served to the villagers. Soon the land will be handed over to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for the construction of six- lane roads after the final clearances for the release of land are received from the government.&quot;</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">Over 238 acres of land will be required for the construction of a 16 Km ring road covering 20 villages in and around Hazaribag town.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">Source-On Request</span></span></span></p>
