<p style="margin-left:.25pt; text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">The Ministry of Petroleum &amp; Natural Gas is concerned with exploration and production of oil and natural gas (including import of Liquefied Natural Gas), refining, distribution &amp; marketing, import, export and conservation of petroleum products. The Hydrocarbon Sector plays a vital role in the economic growth of the country. In the Indian energy basket, though coal dominates but the oil and gas contributes to 29% and 10% respectively.</span></span></span></p> <p style="margin-left:1.2pt; margin-right:.95pt; text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">Innovation emerges as an important factor in promoting economic growth by virtue of a dynamic, mutual relationship between the Innovation and competitiveness. As a part of the National Innovation Council initiative, the ministry has already constituted Sectoral Innovation Council for P&amp;NG to drive innovations in the petroleum and natural gas sector and a roadmap has been already prepared by the Council</span></span></span>.</p> <p style="margin-left:3.4pt; margin-right:1.95pt; text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">In the oil and gas sector, innovation has been earned out largely by the industry, with a limited role played by governments, but the sheer size of the oil industry and its deep impact on the entire economy makes it imperative that all stakeholders get involved to drive innovation in this sector. In order to promote managerial and administrative innovations in the ministry, MoPNG is committed to provide the required ecosystem to create a culture of innovations to keep pace with the changing times and to contribute in enhancing the energy security of the country.
