Admin reviews JCRB Flyover work

<p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">Jehangir Chowk Ram Bagh road would be closed for traffic for three years to facilitate JCRB flyover construction, a high level team of officials from various departments on Wednesday toured the area to review work and traffic diversion plans.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">Official sources said the team led by senior officials including District Development Commissioner Farooq Ahmed Shah toured the routes where from the traffic is to be diverted.&nbsp;</span></span></span><span style="color:rgb(105, 105, 105); font-family:arial; font-size:11px; line-height:1.6em">&nbsp;The sources said government would announce the route plan for diversion in a fortnight. &ldquo;The plan which is being evolved will ensure that people don&rsquo;t face any inconvenience,&rdquo; they said.</span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">Sources said Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Shailendra Kumar, who is personally monitoring the flyover work, is likely to announce the route plan at a media interaction for which modalities including multimedia presentation is being finalized in consultation with Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA), the project executing agency.&nbsp;</span></span></span><span style="color:rgb(105, 105, 105); font-family:arial; font-size:11px; line-height:1.6em">Sources said &ldquo;diversion signage would be pinned along the diversion route so that people don&rsquo;t face any inconvenience.&rdquo;</span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">In December 2009, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had announced that this expressway would be constructed at a cost of INR 300 crores but within three years. In reality, the paperwork alone took more than three years and the work was started on 28.09.2013.
