<p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">Governor VK Duggal today summoned BRO officials concerned to the Raj Bhavan and reviewed the existing condition of Imphal-Jirbam highway.&nbsp;</span></span></span><span style="color:rgb(105, 105, 105); font-family:arial; font-size:11px; line-height:1.6em">The Governor also instructed BRO to complete the road development work as fast as possible.</span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">The review meeting was also attended by Chief Minister O Ibobi, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, Works Minister Kh Ratankumar, Chief Secretary PC Lawmkunga and Principal Secretary (Works) Ram Muivah.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">On their part, the BRO officials gave a power point presentation highlighting progress achieved so far and problems encountered in developing Imphal-Jiribam highway.&nbsp;</span></span></span><span style="color:rgb(105, 105, 105); font-family:arial; font-size:11px; line-height:1.6em">They pledged to complete the highway development work by April 15 .</span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">After listening to the BRO&#39;s power point presentation, the Governor issued strict instructions to complete the highway development work as far as possible.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">Notably, since taking over as the Governor of Manipur, VK Duggal has reviewed the State&#39;s power and water supply situation as well as the progress of the railway project.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">On the other hand, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways earlier decided to relieve BRO off the responsibility of developing and maintaining Imphal-Jiribam highway but the same decision has been kept on hold at the intervention of the Ministry of Home Affairs.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">Source-On Request</span></span></span></p>
