BN Talukdar to take over as Director-General of Hydrocarbons

BN Talukdar, Director, Oil India Ltd, will assume charge as the new Director-General of Hydrocarbons from Thursday.  He takes over from Rajiv Nayan Choubey, a 1981 batch of IAS officers of Tamil Nadu cadre who was brought in by the then Petroleum Minister S Jaipal Reddy. The office of DGH has always been under controversy primarily because of difference of opinion between the regulator and explorer. Talukdar has over 37 years experience in the petroleum industry. Prior to joining Oil India in 1977, he worked in the reservoir engineering division of ONGC.
