BSES seeks release of INR 450 Cr pending dues from Delhi Govt

<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">Delhi discoms run by Reliance Group firm BSES&nbsp;on Thursday&nbsp;sought immediate release of pending dues worth &nbsp;around INR 450 crore, which would allow the utilities to clear NTPC bills. BSES has written separately&nbsp;to Delhi Government to release pending subsidy of INR 262 crore and Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD)&nbsp;to clear dues&nbsp;of around INR 200 crore. The discoms wants to clear NTPC bills by&nbsp;February 10, failing which the power producer has threatened to regulate nearly 2,000 mw of supplies to the national capital.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">NTPC has issued regulation notices to BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd. (BRPL) and BSES Yamuna Power Ltd. (BYPL), stating that 100 per cent of power supplies will be discontinued with effect from&nbsp;midnight&nbsp;of 10-11, on account of non-payment of dues and or failure to maintain adequate LCs.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">Accordingly, if the regulation notices are implemented, there will be almost 100 per cent&nbsp;load shedding in BRPL and BYPL areas, except critical loads like hospitals, metro,&nbsp;and or minimal supply during off-peak night hours. There are pending subsidy payouts of INR 166.35 cr towards BRPL, while another INR 95.79 crore for BYPL. Discoms have also written to Government saying it may make a direct payment to NTPC of INR 95 crore&nbsp;due to BYPL while disbursing the balance amount to BSES Discoms to meet the immediate need.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color:#696969"><span style="font-size:11px"><span style="font-family:arial">Source-On Request</span></span></span></p>
