BHEL pays INR 217-Crore dividend to Centre

Power equipment and engineering firm Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has paid an interim dividend of 65.5 Percent on the enhanced equity capital post-bonus, for fiscal 2013-14. In value terms, the dividend paid amounts to INR 320.63 crore out of which government will get INR 217.14 crore on the equity (67.72 Percent )held by it in the company. The interim dividend paid by BHEL is modest when compared to 850 Percent dividend declared by NMDC and 290 Percent by Coal India that amounts to INR 18,317 crore.
