BJP slams BRO for poor Nagaland Roads

Expressing concern over the poor condition of the national highways maintained by Border Road Organisation (BRO), Indian Airlines, Railways and DDK Kohima, BJP's Nagaland unit has taken up the matter with the governor.

BJP general secretary and spokesperson K James Vizo that a delegation recently met Nagaland governor Ashwani Kumar at Raj Bhavan and informed him of the issues pertaining to the state's national highways maintained by BRO, Indian Airlines, Railways and DDK Kohima. The delegation said there has been scant improvement in the condition of the roads and appealed to the governor to urgently take up the issue with the Centre.

Nagaland BJP president M Chuba Ao also expressed the party's dissatisfaction with the quality and workmanship of BRO, adding that the work done by the concern on roads from Jessemi in Manipur to Phek district in Nagaland was far superior. Ao said the party took a serious view of BRO's indifferent attitude in Nagaland and added that the state cannot be deprived any longer. It appealed to the concerned authority to rectify its complacent attitude for the sake of the state's people and its own image as the nation's most reputed organisation. On being asked about Indian Airlines, BJP expressed its disappointment in the organization for cutting down its services. The party demanded an increase in the reservation quota as far as the Railways are concerned. It also talked about the need for platforms.
