IRB Infrastructure wins INR 2,300 Crore toll Road Project in Haryana

IRB Infrastructure Developers Ltd on Wednesday said it has emerged as a selected bidder and received a letter of award from the government to build a toll road in Haryana at an estimated cost of INR 2,300 crore. The road project involves widening the 166km Kaithal-Rajasthan border section of National Highway-152/65.

IRB Infrastructure said in a notification  has received a letter of award from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The concession period for the project is 27 years and the construction period is 910 days, the company said in a statement.

IRB Infrastructure has sought INR 234 crore as viability gap funding from NHAI. Such funding is provided by the government to projects in the infrastructure sector to make them commercially viable.

“With this project, IRB expands its base in a seventh state, namely Haryana,” the company said. With this project, IRB’s construction order book will increase from INR 8,600 crore to approximately INR 10,600 crore, to be executed in the next three to four years. IRB is one of the largest private developers in India with 20 road projects, of which 16 are functional.
