The Board of Directors of Surana Ventures Limited has decided to change the name of the company to Surana Solar Limited, to reflect the company’s solar business. The Ministry of Corporate affairs has given approval for the name change. Surana Ventures manufactures solar products with a range of 3 Wp to 300 Wp SPV Modules.

As an EPC contractor, Surana Ventures has executed solar projects for associated companies-- Surana Telecom and Power Limited, which is operating 5 MW project in Gujarat. And another project of 5 MW is operating under Bhagyanagar India Limited in Telengana. Narender Surana, Managing Director, said two more 5 MW of solar power projects are under execution by associate companies.

To make it an integrated solar power company, it procured two Solar Cell Lines with a capacity of 130 MW from Schott Solar, Germany which is under commissioning. It will make it one of the largest Solar manufacturing companies in the country.

For the financial year ended 31.03.2014, of total turnover of INR 129.05 crore for the company, the solar division accounted for INR 127.83 crore wherein exports contributed INR 20.08 crore. It expects to further increase the export component.
